Neak Pean is another temple in the Angkor ‘Big Circuit’/’Circle’. It’s a Buddhist island temple!
The waters were supposed to have healing properties and the temple was actually a hospital.
It’s a cruciform arrangement of ponds with a sanctuary tower on a circular island in the middle!
Neak Pean literally means ‘coiled serpents’ and encoiled nagas encircle the temple!
The walkway to the temple is amazing too :).
If you go after the rainy season when the ponds are full, its quite a pleasant site!
