Located in Dandenong Ranges National Park, Kokoda Memorial Walk is a popular destination for Melbourians who want to work up a sweat in nature!
It’s a beautiful walking track of about 5 Km and 1000 steps and is said to have this name to remind the people of the pain suffered by Australian soldiers in 1942.
You’ll start your walk at a Cafe and take 1000 stone steps to reach the top of the mountain.
There are couple of walks to choose from and we did both, one each way!
It’s moderately intense walk (as per my standards!!) and we did the round trip in about 2 hours. Of course, including the time to click pictures here and there.
Some random shots, I love wrecked trees and logs for clicking 🙂
Go drive a bit (which is quite beautiful as well) to do your regular walk in midst of nature!
