World of symbols, a puzzle to be solved, race against time, a chase to save the world.. thats what all Dan Brown Novels are about. Inferno continues the tradition.
I have waited long enough to read this one and it was the same Dan Brownish experience. A fast-paced eventful journey where Robert Langdon is accompanied by an intellectual female. Robert Langdon is given yet another task of making sense of some encrypted message to save the world! As usual, it turned out to be a page turner but I din’t find it as interesting as the Da Vinci Code!
Most of the book is set in the city of Florence. You get to read about Dante’s Divine Comedy, his death mask, Boticelli’s Map of Hell and similar things! There’s much to review about Dan Brown books actually without revealing the actual plot! so, Ill keep it simple and just say that if you have liked the previous ones, you’ll most probably enjoy this one as well! And if you haven’t read any of his work, read Da Vinci Code first!
Some lines from the book:
“The decisions of our past are the architects of our present.”
“The human mind has a primitive ego defense mechanism that negates all realities that produce too much stress for the brain to handle. It’s called Denial.”
“Nothing is more creative… nor destructive… than a brilliant mind with a purpose.”
“When they face desperation… human beings become animals.”
“There comes a moment in history when ignorance is no longer a forgivable offense….a moment when only wisdom has the power to absolve”
