WebDriver is an interface and Selenium has classes to implement methods of Webdriver interface. It makes direct calls to the native browser methods without any server.

 

  1. Navigate to seleniumhq.org/download/
  2. Find the Selenium Webdriver for Java and download which will be a zip file.
  3. Extract the zip, it will have two jar files and library files as

  1. Go to the JavaDoc for Selenium to view the classes that the WebDriver implements at http://selenium.googlecode.com/git/docs/api/java/index.html
  2. Open Eclipse and create a new Java Project.
  3. Right click on your Project and click on Properties.
  4. Select “Java Build Path”.
  5. Click on Libraries tab and then on “Add External JARs”.

selenium_26.  Now select jars and add them. Do the same for library files. Once you do this, you will see these under Referenced Libraries under your project in Eclipse.

After the libraries are integrated with Eclipse, you are good to go.
