An Ideal SCRUM Team in an truly AGILE environment does not have a Project Manager. If it is an organisational or Project requirement, there still can be a person wearing this hat but due to some reasons SCRUM Master cannot be called a Project Manager in true sense.

— Project Manager tells the team about “what” to do while a SCRUM Master helps the team regarding “how” to do things.

— SCRUM Master is just a “facilitator”, a coach , a mentor and never a decision maker as opposed to the Project Manager.

— SCRUM Master works on principles of “Servant Leadership” while Project Manager is basically like a head for the team.

— Project Manager is generally never as involved with the entire team like a SCRUM Master is.
